Behind the Doors / About this guide
How this guide checks each door
Checked October 8, 2026By the Threshold Desk
Every stage size, hotel and kitchen hour on this site comes from a page that can be opened, with a date. This page explains how the Threshold Desk checks what stands behind each door.
Where the facts come from
Each amenity on this site comes from one of four kinds of source. They are a casino's own website, the operator's annual report, a city or district directory and a news report. Every fact is stored with the page it came from and the date it was checked. Stage sizes, hotel room counts and kitchen hours all follow that route.
Some casino websites block automated reading. When that happened, the Desk used an archive copy of the casino's own page in its place. Each such copy is marked in the research notes, so it is never mistaken for a live page.
Venue facts were checked on October 8, 2026. Casino and table-game hours were checked once more on October 9, 2026. Behind the Doors is written and signed collectively as the Threshold Desk, and no page carries a personal byline.
Rules for figures and labels
Where two official pages disagree on a figure, the guide leaves the figure out. Capacities appear as the venues publish them. The Pearl Showroom at PURE Casino Yellowhead shows up to 500 standing, and The Venue at River Cree up to 2,500, depending on setup.
Two labels on this site follow fixed definitions. Food after 11 pm means a kitchen or counter listed as serving past 11 pm on at least one night. A bar listed only with bar hours does not qualify. A stage counts as big when its published capacity is 500 or more.
Distances are straight lines between map points, measured from Sir Winston Churchill Square downtown. They are not road distances and say nothing about how long a trip takes.
Hours and what stays unknown
Kitchen and bar hours are kept as weekly time ranges in Edmonton time, the America/Edmonton time zone. The serving-now marks are worked out in the reader's own browser, against those ranges. Holiday hours are not covered, so they should be checked on the venue's own site.
Some things the guide does not know at all. It cannot say how busy a room is or how long a line-up runs. It does not track what is on stage on a given night. Nor does it know what anything costs, from a meal to a hotel room. Those questions go to the venue, by phone or on its own site.
Questions
Why do some figures not appear on a venue page?
When the guide finds two different numbers for the same thing, such as two seating figures for one show room, it leaves the figure out. Other figures are missing because they were never published, such as the capacity of Halley's Club at Starlight.
How old are the facts on this site?
Venue facts were checked on October 8, 2026. Casino and table-game hours were checked again on October 9, 2026. Holiday hours are not covered and should be checked on the venue's own site.
Why do some pages rely on archive copies?
Some casino websites block automated reading. In those cases the Desk used an archive copy of the casino's own page and marked it as such in the research notes.
